The Scottsburg Warrior Football team continued its impressive season on Friday night, cruising to a dominant 64-0 victory over Eastern (Pekin) on the road. The Warriors were firing on all cylinders—through the air, on the ground, and on defense—in one of their most complete performances of the season. Senior quarterback Nathan Byrd led the offensive explosion, completing 11 of 19 passes for 275 yards and five touchdowns, while freshman Caleb Salas was perfect in relief, going 4-for-4 for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Scottsburg finished with 365 passing yards and 183 rushing yards, totaling an eye-popping 548 yards of offense. Senior running back Landon Shuck powered the ground game, rushing for 152 yards and two touchdowns on just 17 carries. He also added a receiving score, giving him three total touchdowns on the night. The Warrior receiving corps was equally dominant. Senior Garrett Boling hauled in four receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns, while Matthew Wickey added 76 yards and a touchdown, and sophomore Landon Toppe caught a 56-yard score. Junior Luke Hamilton and sophomore Myles Ridge also found the end zone through the air. Defensively, the Warriors were stifling—allowing no points and only limited offensive movement from Eastern. Boling led the way with 10 total tackles, while Wickey had a standout night on both sides of the ball, recording two interceptions and a fumble recovery. Junior Tyler Roberts also blocked a kick, adding to the defensive dominance. Senior kicker Tucker Doriot was steady as always, converting 6 of 7 PATs, while Kaden Shuler and Jacob June each contributed two-point conversions. With the win, Scottsburg improved its record and continued to build momentum as postseason play approaches. The Warriors’ offense has now scored over 60 points in back-to-back games, and their defense has allowed just seven points combined in those contests. Scottsburg will look to keep rolling next week as they prepare for their regular season finale and the upcoming sectional tournament.
