The Scottsburg Warriorette volleyball team hit the court on Saturday at the Joyce Gates Invitational hosted by Edgewood High School, taking on a competitive field of teams throughout the day. In their opening match, the Warriorettes fell to Terre Haute North by scores of 14-25, 15-25. Scottsburg bounced back strong in their second contest, earning a convincing win over Eastern Greene, 25-15, 25-20. The team showed great energy and execution throughout the match to even their record on the day. In their final match, the Warriorettes battled Clay City in a tight three-set contest. After dropping the first set 16-25, Scottsburg rallied to take the second 25-22 before ultimately coming up short in the deciding set, 15-8. The Warriorettes will return to action on Monday, October 6th, when they travel to Brownstown Central for a MSC matchup.
