FRANKLIN – Scottsburg’s Marley Fleenor capped off a strong season by competing in the IHSAA Girls Golf Regional on Saturday, September 27, at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin. Facing one of the toughest fields in the state, Fleenor battled through challenging pin placements and fast greens to finish her round with a score of 109. Fleenor posted a 59 on the front nine before steadying her game with a 50 on the back nine. Her determination and ability to regroup highlighted the composure she has displayed throughout her season. The regional featured some of the top programs in Indiana, with Franklin Community winning the team title with a score of 318, followed closely by Batesville (325) and Floyd Central (332). Individually, Batesville’s Ava South earned medalist honors with an even-par 72. Though Fleenor’s season came to a close at Regionals, her performance added another chapter to the growth of the Scottsburg girls golf program. Competing at this level was both an accomplishment and a valuable experience for the Warriorette golfer. “Getting to Regionals is always a big achievement, and Marley showed the kind of perseverance and character we want our players to have,” said Scottsburg coach Carter Bowles. “She represented our school and program with pride.”
