The Scottsburg Warriorette golf team wrapped up their postseason at the IHSAA Sectional held Saturday, September 20, at Sunrise Golf Course in Madison. Against a strong field of competitors, the Warriorettes showed determination and growth throughout the round. Marley Fleenor led the way for Scottsburg, shooting a 101 to earn one of the three advancing individual spots. With her performance, Fleenor secured a trip to the IHSAA Regional, ensuring Scottsburg will be represented in the next stage of the tournament. Also competing for Scottsburg were Megan Meyer (124) and Jordan Bailey (127), both of whom battled through the challenging course and contributed to a strong team showing. Madison Consolidated won the team sectional title with a score of 342, followed by Switzerland County (403), Jennings County (436), and Southwestern Hanover (524). Alongside Fleenor, individual qualifiers included Maggie Seevers of Charlestown (108) and Paisley Hendrix of Southwestern (117). Head Coach Carter Bowles praised Fleenor’s composure and steady play under pressure: “Marley has worked hard all season and stayed focused when it mattered most. We’re excited to see her compete at the Regional and proud of the way our entire team represented Scottsburg.” Fleenor will compete next week at the IHSAA Regional, continuing her postseason journey and carrying the Warriorette banner forward. The IHSAA Regional will be held at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin on Saturday, September 27th.
