The Scottsburg girls cross country team lined up against a massive and talented field Saturday at the Brown County Eagle Classic in the Girls AA Varsity race. Leading the Warriorettes was Brooklyn Moon, who crossed in 24:36.3. She was followed by Addison Elliott at 25:12.4, Briley Bary at 26:54.6, and Addison Eldridge at 27:54.8. The meet provided Scottsburg valuable big-race experience, with all four runners gaining a chance to compete on one of Indiana’s most challenging and competitive courses as they continue building toward the postseason. The Scottsburg boys cross country team also competed in the Eagle Classic, one of the state’s premier meets. In the Freshman/Sophomore race, Gavin Curley represented the Warriors with a strong performance, finishing 76th overall in a time of 18:57.3. In the Boys AA Varsity race, Kameron Reed led Scottsburg with a 43rd-place finish, crossing the line in 18:09.9. Both runners gained valuable experience against a deep and talented field as the Warriors continue to prepare for the championship stretch of the season.
