Big Fourth Inning Leads Greensburg Pirates Past Scottsburg Warriors By GameChanger Media Greensburg Varsity Pirates defeated Scottsburg Varsity Warriors 12-2 on Saturday thanks in part to eight runs in the fourth inning. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors got on the board in the fourth inning after Ian Gricius hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Greensburg Varsity Pirates flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring eight runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Caleb Greiwe on a full count that drove in three. Lance Coy earned the win for Greensburg Varsity Pirates. The pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking two. Garrett McClellan took the loss for Scottsburg Varsity Warriors. The starting pitcher went three and one-third innings, surrendering six runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out four and walking none. Gricius led the team with one run batted in. Brandt Kendall went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Scottsburg Varsity Warriors in hits. Logan Meyer led Greensburg Varsity Pirates with four runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Greiwe and Joey Everroad were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Greensburg Varsity Pirates while hitting back-to-back.
