Both Scottsburg cross country teams earned top-three finishes at the Silver Creek Dragon Invitational. The Warriors placed second in the boys race with 88 points, while the Warriorettes finished third in the girls race with 77 points. Senior Kameron Reed led the Warriors over the 5,000-meter course, placing 14th in 18:15. Freshman Asher Horton followed in 15th at 18:23, and junior Gavin Curley took 19th in 18:44. Freshman Caleb Cox finished 23rd in 18:58, and freshman Carter Howell completed Scottsburg’s scoring five in 29th at 19:39. Also competing for the Warriors were Jaxon Sayers (49th, 21:04), Rylan Dowden (59th, 21:39) and Ben Hough (80th, 24:35). Silver Creek won the boys team title with 15 points, taking the first five individual places. Trinity Lutheran finished third with 108 points. The Warriorettes were led by junior Sofie Riley, who placed 18th in 22:57. Sophomore Presley Buckel was close behind in 20th at 23:07. Senior Addison Eldridge finished 32nd in 24:44, senior Providence Vaughn placed 38th in 25:15, and junior Georgia McNeely rounded out the scoring five in 45th at 26:42. Geneva Bennett finished 48th in 28:14, and Addison Elliott placed 50th in 29:20 for Scottsburg. Silver Creek won the girls team title with 20 points, followed by Charlestown with 49.
