Bishop and Copple Advance to Regional for Scottsburg Girls Golf

MADISON, Ind. — Scottsburg’s Audrey Bishop and Layla Copple both earned spots in the next round of the IHSAA state tournament Saturday, highlighting a strong showing by the Warriorettes at the Girls Golf Sectional at Sunrise Golf Course in Madison. Bishop and Copple claimed two of the three individual regional qualifying spots available to golfers whose teams did not advance. Bishop finished with a 104, while Copple was close behind with a 110. Southwestern’s Paisley Hendrix claimed the third qualifying position with a 111. 2026 Girls Golf Sectional #30 at Madison.xlsx - Tournament Scoresheet (1).pdf Bishop opened with a 54 on the front nine before improving to a 50 on the back for her 104. Copple was consistent throughout her round, shooting a 56 on the front and a 54 on the back to finish at 110. Both performances were good enough to extend their seasons and earn a trip to the regional. 2026 Girls Golf Sectional #30 at Madison.xlsx - Tournament Scoresheet (1).pdf Scottsburg’s Megan Meyer also competed Saturday and finished with a 115, shooting 60 on the front nine and 55 on the back. Those three teams advanced to the regional.
