The Scottsburg girls golf team competed in the Madison Invitational on Saturday, August 15, at Sunrise Golf Course in Madison. Audrey Bishop led the Warriorettes with an 18-hole score of 112, placing 14th overall. Bishop displayed impressive consistency, recording matching scores of 56 on the front and back nine. Layla Copple completed the tournament with a 124 to finish 29th overall. Copple carded a 61 on the opening nine holes before closing with a 63. Switzerland County won the team championship with a score of 390, followed by Madison Red at 417 and Jennings County at 435. Switzerland County’s Alexis Mangold earned medalist honors with an 82, while Madison’s Claire Miller placed second with an 85. The invitational provided Bishop and Copple with another valuable opportunity to gain experience against a large field as the Warriorettes continue their 2026 season.
