Dear SCSD2 Parents and Families, As we prepare for the upcoming elementary soccer season, we want to share an important update regarding our program structure this year. Due to a shortage of available coaches to lead each individual team, we have decided to move to a modified format for this season. Our goal is to continue providing a positive, instructional, and engaging experience for all student-athletes while making the best use of our available staff. In this new format, practices and games will take place on the same day. Each session will begin with a structured practice (20 minutes) focused on teaching and reinforcing fundamental soccer skills. Following the practice portion, students will participate in game play (20 minutes with two 10 minute halves) where they can apply those skills in a fun and supportive environment. All sessions will be led by our middle and high school soccer coaches and assistants, along with the help of current and former players. This approach will allow us to maintain quality instruction while also giving students the opportunity to learn from experienced athletes within our program.
