SCOTTSBURG — Scottsburg hosted Crothersville and Christian Academy of Indiana in a competitive track and field meet Thursday night, with both Scottsburg squads turning in strong performances across the board. The Scottsburg girls team captured the team title, scoring 68 points to outpace Crothersville (34) and Christian Academy (30). On the boys side, Scottsburg finished second with 57 points, behind Crothersville (80) and ahead of Christian Academy (23). Girls Team Dominates with Depth and Event Wins The Warriorettes showcased depth and versatility, winning multiple events on their way to the team victory. Sofie Riley led the distance crew with a win in the 1600-meter run (6:46.79) and added another victory in the 300-meter hurdles (54.82). Taylor Busick was also a standout, winning the long jump (15-2.5) and taking first in the 100-meter hurdles (17.99). In the field events, Scottsburg excelled. Kylee Miles claimed the high jump title (4-8), while Anissah Payne-Eldridge won the pole vault (9-0) and added a runner-up finish in the long jump. The Warriors swept the top spots in pole vault and placed multiple athletes in several events, highlighting their depth. Other key performances included: Addison Eldridge placing second in the 200-meter dash (30.46) Providence Vaughn finishing second in the 800-meter run (3:25.31) Strong placements across distance events, including a 1-2 finish in the 1600 Boys Team Earns Runner-Up Finish The Scottsburg boys turned in several first-place finishes and competitive efforts in a strong field. Kameron Reed had a big night, winning the 400-meter dash (55.61) and the long jump (18-10) while also placing second in the 100-meter dash (12.31). Gavin Curley added a victory in the 110-meter hurdles (17.56) and placed in multiple events. In the field events, Scottsburg dominated the pole vault, sweeping the top three spots: Luke Hamilton (1st, 9-6) Myles Ridge (2nd, 9-0) Grady Miles (3rd, 8-0) Additional highlights included: Aiden Cornelius placing third in the 200-meter dash (25.41) and third in high jump Strong relay performances, including a second-place finish in the 4x400 (4:01.97) Josh Telles finishing second in the shot put (40-6) Christopher Richardson placing second in the discus (116-0) Full Results: https://in.milesplit.com/meets/750268-scottsburg-vs-cai-crothersville-and-medora-2026/results
