The Warrior Boys Track & Field team competed Friday night at the Corydon Central Stargazer Invitational, facing a strong 17-team field and finishing 16th overall with 6.5 points. Despite the final team standings, Scottsburg showed flashes of promise across multiple events, highlighted by several competitive individual performances. On the track, Kameron Reed led the way in the distance events with a solid effort in the 800-meter run, finishing 10th overall in 2:14.07. Reed also contributed in the 1600 meters, placing 12th with a time of 5:00.62, showing consistency across events . In the sprints, Aiden Cornelius turned in a strong performance in the 100-meter dash, finishing 19th in 12.53, while teammate Luke Hamilton followed closely in 20th. The Warriors also saw Uriah Barrientos compete in the 200-meter dash, continuing to build experience in a competitive field . The 400-meter dash featured Canyn Hurd, who placed 21st with a time of 58.30, while Scottsburg athletes gained valuable race experience across multiple heats . In field events, Cornelius added to the team’s effort with a fourth-place finish in the high jump (5-6), marking Scottsburg’s top placement of the meet and accounting for the majority of the team’s points . Reed also contributed in the long jump, finishing 11th with a mark of 18-9.50. The Warriors also competed in relay events, including the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, continuing to develop chemistry and depth as the season progresses. While the team result doesn’t fully reflect their effort, the meet provided valuable competition against some of the top programs in the region. With continued improvement and experience, the Warriors will look to build on these performances in upcoming meets.
