Scottsburg Track & Field Shows Strong Effort at Home Meet

The Scottsburg girls track and field team turned in a competitive and well-rounded performance at their home meet last night, highlighted by a first-place finish, multiple runner-up efforts, and several top-three finishes across the board. Leading the way for the Warriors was senior **Taylor Busick**, who captured a **first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles** with a time of 17.55. Busick also added another standout performance in the field events, finishing **second in the long jump** with a leap of 14-8, showcasing her versatility and leadership. The hurdles crew continued to shine as **Kylee Miles** placed **fourth in the 100-meter hurdles**, while the team saw another strong showing in the **300-meter hurdles**, where **Sofie Riley** earned a **third-place finish** in 55.79. On the track, Scottsburg’s sprint and relay groups showed progress and competitiveness. The **4x100 meter relay team** placed **second overall** with a time of 55.38, one of the team’s top finishes of the night. Individually, Riley also contributed in the sprints with a **fifth-place finish in the 100 meters** (14.05), while **Kylee Miles** added a **fifth-place finish in the 200 meters** (29.72). In the distance events, Scottsburg athletes gained valuable experience competing against a strong field. **Arya Stillions** placed **eighth in the 800 meters** and added a **fifth-place finish in the high jump**, while teammates **Providence Vaughn** and **Eliana Muncy** competed in multiple distance races, continuing to build depth for the Warriors. The field events were another area of strength for Scottsburg. In addition to Busick’s runner-up finish, **Arya Stillions** placed **fifth in the long jump**, giving the Warriors two athletes in the top five. In the throwing events, **Brynley Culley** led the way with a **third-place finish in discus**, while **Lily Neace** and **Kyndall Dickerson** added solid performances in both discus and shot put. Overall, the Warriors demonstrated balance across sprints, hurdles, relays, distance, and field events. Competing on their home track, Scottsburg showed continued improvement and competitiveness against a strong group of schools, setting a positive tone as the season progresses.
