The Scottsburg High School boys and girls track and field teams traveled to Indianapolis on March 14 to compete in the Pike Red Devil Rumble HSR Qualifier. The indoor meet featured strong competition from schools across the state as athletes looked to post early-season marks and continue preparing for the upcoming outdoor season. Warrior athletes competed in sprint, hurdle, distance, relay, and field events, with several strong performances highlighting the day. Top Scottsburg Performances Several Warriors recorded notable finishes during the meet. Senior Taylor Busick led the Scottsburg girls with a 5th-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles finals, crossing the line in 10.31 seconds after running 10.43 seconds in the preliminaries. Freshman Anissah Payne-Eldridge delivered one of the top field performances of the meet for Scottsburg, placing 5th in the pole vault with a clearance of 8 feet, 6 inches (2.59m). Freshman Kylee Miles also reached the 60-meter hurdles finals, finishing 7th overall in 11.09 seconds after running 11.02 in the preliminaries. The boys distance medley relay team turned in one of the best finishes for the Warriors, placing 11th overall with a time of 12:51.28.
