Scottsburg used a dominant fourth quarter Tuesday night to pull away for a 56-51 road win over Trinity Lutheran. Trailing after the first quarter and locked in a tight battle most of the way, the Warriors erupted for 22 points in the final period to secure the five-point victory. Trinity Lutheran jumped out to an early advantage, leading 14-10 after one quarter. Scottsburg settled in during the second period, edging the Cougars 12-11 to trim the deficit to 25-22 at halftime. The Warriors continued to chip away in the third quarter, outscoring Trinity 12-8 to take a 34-33 lead into the final frame. With the game hanging in the balance, Scottsburg delivered its best offensive stretch of the night in the fourth, pouring in 22 points while holding Trinity to 18 to close out the 56-51 win. Garrett Boling led the way for the Warriors with 20 points, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and 6-of-7 from the free throw line. Jaxon Owens added 12 points, knocking down four three-pointers. Bennett Pearcy scored nine points, including a perfect 6-of-6 performance at the line, while Braden Cox and Jarin Luttrell each contributed six. Aiden Cornelius chipped in two points and Caiden Boswell added one to round out the scoring for Scottsburg. Trinity Lutheran was paced by Reed Mellencamp with 19 points and Hudson Lang with 11. Bode Brooks added seven points, Isaac Darlage finished with six, and Luke Schepman scored four. Braxton Sinclair and Logan Schepman each added two points in the loss. Scottsburg finished 18-of-25 at the free throw line and outrebounded Trinity Lutheran 35-28, helping the Warriors secure the hard-fought road victory.
