Warriors Compete at IHSAA Boys Wrestling Sectional at Jennings County

The Scottsburg High School boys wrestling team is set to compete today at the IHSAA Boys Wrestling Sectional, hosted by Jennings County High School in North Vernon. Action begins early, with official weigh-ins taking place at 7:30 a.m., followed by a coaches meeting at 8:45 a.m. Wrestling is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. with first-round championship bracket matches contested across four mats. The sectional will feature multiple sessions throughout the day, including championship bracket semifinals, consolation rounds, and wrestlebacks as teams battle to determine the top four finishers in each weight class, which is the IHSAA qualifying standard under the current postseason format. Championship finals and consolation finals are scheduled to begin at approximately 2:00 p.m., with awards presentations following the completion of each weight class. All championship bracket matches will be wrestled in 2-2-2 periods, while consolation matches will follow a 1-2-2 format.
