Scottsburg girls basketball ran into a tough Austin squad on the road Tuesday night, falling 61–28. The Warriorettes were competitive early, trading baskets through the first quarter, but Austin’s pressure and transition game began to tilt the floor in the second. Scottsburg trailed 29–14 at the half and couldn’t find a consistent rhythm against Austin’s defense the rest of the way. Addison Eldridge led the Warriorettes with 9 points, doing most of her work attacking the lane and finishing through contact. KK Grogan added 8 points, while Georgia McNeely chipped in 7 to keep Scottsburg within reach at times. Anissah Payne-Eldridge rounded out the scoring with 4 points. Austin steadily extended the margin each quarter, using a strong third-quarter push to pull away for good. Scottsburg will look to build on the effort—especially defensively and on the glass—heading into the next stretch of conference play.
